3 Must Have Apps
Okay, we are into the last quarter of the year and if you haven’t quite hit your fitness or weight loss goals you made waaaaayyyy back in January, I have 3 smart phone apps that can help you meet your 2013 resolutions.
Calorie tracking extraordinaire! If you haven’t counted calories in a long time or EVER, you are probably going to be a bit disillusioned your first few days tracking. I’m 98% sure you are eating more calories than you think you are. On the other hand, I’m 98% sure you are burning fewer calories than you think. This handy app also tells you APPROXIMATELY how many calories you have burned through some typical workouts which is super handy. When you first sign up you will plug in your age, gender, weight and weight loss goal and the handy dandy app will tell you how many calories you need to take in to reach that goal.
It’s not 100% accurate but it’s 99% more accurate than your guesses! Try it for at least a month to get a strong feeling of what your meal sizes, types, and choices should look like. Then if you start gaining weight, check yourself anytime!
The next great app is to help you track your movement as well as choose time and distance goals. Mapmywalk can also track your runs or bike rides with its GPS locater letting you know how far, fast, and challenging your workout was. It also has a graph display of the gradients you have climbed. You can then challenge your time or distance anytime in your own neighborhood or on your favorite path.
This interval timer makes at home circuits a breeze. Pick, for example, 5 cardio exercises and 5 strength exercise, choose the length of time for the exercise, the amount of rest between exercises and play your own music in the background. The timer will tell you when to start and when to rest so you can stay focused on your workout.
